Finals Week

Most of you have made it through your last final and are breathing that sigh of relief which lifts all the weight and stress and energy from the last 8 weeks off of your shoulders allowing a sense of peace, satisfaction, or just plain gladness that it's over to settle in. For those of you who aren't there yet, today is the day. By the end of it, you will have that release. Hang in there, you're soo close.
For me, the summer term is always kind of a limbo land with students that we've gotten to know leaving or finishing their last class before moving on to greater things or new students coming in, not sure if TVCC is the place for them or what it will be like going here. This summer term has been unique to me in the number of new students or continuing students who have discovered the Library and have settled in here either physically or virtually as their place to connect and find help. I say this because I've had a record number of you responding to these blog posts, emailing me personally and even calling the Library and leaving messages. All of these responses have been ones of thanks, for the services, the help they received, the comfort levels in the Library and overall, just thanking us for being here and connecting with you.
While no thanks are necessary, I wanted to say that it truly delights us to hear from all of you and we really appreciate it. Whenever I teach a research class, I always ask students to remember that the Library staff are here for you. We are here to help in whatever ways we can and hopefully be a small part of the successful education experience that you have here at TVCC. We really mean that. So, for those of you moving on, we have enjoyed being a part of your lives. For those of you coming in or just starting to become familiar with the Library...keep talking to us. Tell us what you like. Tell us what you don't like. Ask questions. Ask for help. Just ask. We want to hear what you have to say.
This may be the last post on here for a few weeks, but the we'll be back up and running in September. Please continue to let us know what you are thinking. We will still answer your emails and questions even if we are closed. We have some really fun and exciting stuff planned for the fall and we hope you'll continue to be a part of it. Most importantly, keep talking to us. Have a fantastic summer break!
Wishing you all the best,

~The Library Staff
