A month of Art

Have you ever wanted to deconstruct an old book and make something cool out of it?  How about draw or paint a picture with the words as the background?  Or maybe you just like creating awesome things in general.  If so, this month’s library event is the one for you!  For the month of May, we will be hosting a Book Art Event where you can submit your own artwork made from books or pages of books.  Either create something on your own time, or come to our workshops where we will provide the books, materials, and inspiring images.
The workshops will be held in the library on May 6th from 6-9pm and May 18th from 1-9pm.  Submissions will be due by May 26th and for two weeks they will be displayed around campus for people to vote on.  On Friday, June 6th at 6:30pm, we will hold a Gallery Night where artists can invite family and friends to see the other submissions, snack on refreshments, and find out who the prize winners are (there will be some pretty cool prizes!)
This contest event is open to all students of TVCC as well as members of the community.  You must be present at the Gallery Night to receive a prize.
