Bad Love Poetry Contest!

Love is in the air, and there's a kind of hush all over the world. That's because it's February, that special time of year when all you need is love. If birds suddenly appear when your loved one is near, if you like pina coladas, if you would do anything for love, even if you think love bites, enter our Bad Love Poetry Contest!

We want to read poems so sweet they make our teeth hurt, so sappy we could start a maple syrup factory, so cheesy we could never find enough wine to pair them with. Hit us with your best shot.

The Deets

Your poem must be original, it's gotta be about love, and it has to be so bad it hurts.

You can submit your bad love poems to the Boxes of Love at the Library or the Ontario Writing Lab (BH-105), or you can email your poems directly to Kelsea at kdjones@tvcc.cc. Include your name and contact info so we can let you know if you win. Poems are due Feb. 12 @ 5:00 pm.

How do I win?

This is when voting starts! We will post all of the poems we receive on the Library bulletin board in Barber Hall and here on the blog. If you would like us to post your poem anonymously, let us know on your submission, but make sure we still have a way to contact you!

Campus will vote on their favorite poems from Feb. 13-15. The poet with the most votes will be crowned the Bad Love Poet Laureate and win a gift bag full of treats!

Are you ready? Fill that book of love!
