November Author of the Month!

I had a difficult time choosing this month's featured author... so many options. The competition was fierce, but in the end Ken Burns was our choice. Though the books he's written are few, this man has contributed greatly to the historical education of America. By capturing a time long gone yet restored through his lens, Ken Burns shows us history anew. I know we've just mentioned his newest film triumph The War last week. There are more available in the Library for your viewing pleasure as well. We have available the epic Civil War series which is a librarian favorite and has achieved more than 40 major film and television awards, including two Emmy Awards, two Grammy Awards, People's Choice Award.. the list goes on. In case war documentaries are not your thing, we have the fascinating (and much shorter) Lewis and Clark, Mark Twain, and Thomas Jefferson films. The book he wrote about the filming of The War is available for check-out as are many more of his works through the Sage Library System through Interlibrary loans(don't know how? Come see us!). So, if you haven't yet, come check out one of these films.
Plus, if you are taking one of Mr. Mahaffey's classes, they are good for extra credit!
