February Author of the Month!
I know it's been a while since we've had a specific Author featured. So this month, I wanted to pick someone really good that has our staff has been reading furiously and thoroughly enjoying. That author is James Patterson. I've been watching (before writer's strikes and reruns) the new ABC drama "Women's Murder Club" which being a die-hard crime show fan, I love. It's very fun and different from the rest of the crime shows out right now. I've really enjoyed it and was surprised to find that it's based on a book series by James Patterson. Though I have an equal passion for reading books of the murder-mystery variety, Patterson is not an author that I've tried before. Over Christmas break, we delved into that series and became instant fans. He is very easy to read, fun, and good at keeping you guessing. I didn't have the killer's identity figured out at all in the first three books. This is a must for me in good mystery writing. The Library now has copies of the first six books in the Women's Murder Club series with the seventh (out in February) to be added soon. Give them a try, we think you'll like them. Patterson is also the author of many more books chocked full of drama and suspense. Another series he writes is the Alex Cross series which you may be familiar with as a few have been made into movies such as "Kiss the Girls" and "Along came a Spider" both starring Morgan Freeman. There are many more to choose from and any of his books come well recommended by the Library staff. Pick one up and enjoy.
