Biographies galore...

This spring has seen the publishing world flush in celebrity biographies. Why do we care? Well, some stories are just too interesting to pass up. A few stood out to us and were recently added to the Library shelves. For this week, rather than review just one book, we're going to share a few titles. Confession: we haven't read them all yet, but didn't want you to miss the opportunity to check them out.
It would be remiss of us to not start with the sensational memoir, Does the Noise in My Head Bother You? by none other than Steven Tyler.
Another male memoirist that caught our attention was the ever charming Rob Lowe (and yes ladies, we admit that somethings are definitely better with age) and his new book Stories I Only Tell My Friends: an Autobiography. Anyone familiar with movies and celebrities of the 80's will find this book fascinating, funny, moving, and so much more.

For something more serious or rather more inspiring and moving, we'd suggest Ashley Judd's new book All That is Bitter and Sweet.

A few other biographies that we liked....
Bossypants by Tina Fey
Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
My Father's Daughter by Gwyneth Paltrow (cookbook)
127 Hours: between a rock and a hard place by Aron Ralston

I was looking forward to hearing about the exploits of Stephen Tyler. I was a little disappointed that the book was more about his relationship with the band, and not more about Tyler's life as a whole. Very little was mentioned about the relationships with his children's Mothers, or his friends and family. I believe that would have filled in the blanks alot with his personal life and his belief system. Tyler said himself that he was married to the band, and that was obvious throughout the book.
