As the new school year officially gets underway, I want to take the opportunity to say to all new students and those returning, "Hello and welcome to TVCC." The Library staff are glad you are all here and we look forward to seeing you and helping you as we can. A few start of term things I want to make you all aware of...
Research classes: The Library offers a one-time hour-long research presentation which is free and will give you all the information you need to use the Library as well as navigate our online research sites. This is a fabulously helpful training that you will use for every class you take. Many of your teachers will have this presentation during your regular class period. Others require or recommend that you take it on your own time. Some even offer extra credit for taking it. It is offered in the Library beginning the second week of the term every Tuesday at 7 p.m., Wednesday at 12 p.m. and Thursday at 4 .m. All you have to do is stop by the Library at one of these times and we will take care of the rest.
Student ID cards: Yes, you get these in the Library. We also have Fall stickers so if you are a returning student, stop by and we will update your card. If you would like a gym pass to the weight room you do have to have a current card so come to the Library first.
For everything else: Remember you can always ask the Library staff. Regardless of the question, we will help you in any way that we can. Over the summer we added a lot of new books and DVDs to our collection. We are very excited about what we were able to add this year so far. If there is something you are looking for that that we don't have, let us know. We take requests and suggestions, so let us know what you think.
