A new month, a new term, another opportunity for prizes...and so much more
Welcome back to all our lovely returning students, and welcome to those joining us for the first time. We are glad you are here! If this is your first year at TVCC, you may not be aware that April is National Poetry Month. This is something that we get excited about. I should actually say that we, in the Library, get very excited about. Admittedly, it is a bit nerdy, but I feel like shouting sometimes, "Hey everybody, it's National Poetry Month!" Now, many of you are already skimming forward from here, but don't do it. I know that poetry is a baffling subject for some, uninteresting for others, and maybe even boring. If this is how you feel, you aren't reading the right stuff. Much like other forms of literature, there is a type of poetry that suits everyone. I'll be writing later in the month more about the topic and sharing some fun poems on our facebook page throughout the month. What you need to know now...we are working with the English Department on campus to sponsor some fun activities for the month. So here's the dates in advance with more details to come.
Thursday, April 19th, 6 p.m. in Weese 110
Movie Night!
Thursday, April 26th, 6 p.m. in the Library
Poem in Your Pocket Day!
